Philip
Wilson
BSc, MSc DIC, Ceng MIStructE
For eight years, until the formation of Malishev Wilson Engineers
in 2004, Philip worked as a senior structural engineer at Dewhurst
Macfarlane and Partners, dealing with a wide range of projects
using structural glass.
These included: Yurakucho canopy (Tokyo, Japan) and AUDI Glass
Cube Reading Room, Riyadh. On the glass cube project he followed
up the design work as a resident engineer on site, dealing with
contractors queries and checking the quality of glass connections.
Due to the complex nature of these projects, Philip was involved
in extensive research and testing work whenever the required technical
data was limited or unavailable. This enabled him to accumulate
invaluable knowledge and experience of glass as a structural material,
as well as other associated materials.
Philips research lead to a large number of his technical
papers being presented to various conferences and lectures around
the country and abroad. His teaching experience includes work
at the following architectural schools : Bartlet, Architectural
Association, Newcastle and also overseas Delft, Stockholm
In 2000 Philip spent a year in Japan working for Structural Design
Group, collaborating with leading architects including Toyo Ito.
He was involved in a number of prestigious projects in Tokyo.

Gennady
Vasilchenko-Malishev
Dipl.Eng(Rus), MSc, Ceng MIStructE
Gennady began his engineering career in Russia, where he worked
for three years in Moscow for Waterman International dealing with
large commercial and public buildings in the city centre, using
both British and Russian codes of practice for design. During
that period, he was also involved in overseas projects, particularly
in Britain where specialist IT and communication tools were used
extensively.
In 2000, Gennady moved to London and joined Dewhurst Macfarlane
and Partners, where he stayed for four years. During this time,
he developed his professional career by working on projects of
various sizes and complexity both in the UK and overseas, specializing
in high profile and architecturally challenging structures built
with all of the major building materials. [including glass and
composite materials, tensile fabrics] .
For the last two years, Gennady has mainly focused on business
in Russia. As a result, he was instrumental in establishing the
presence of Dewhurst Macfarlane and Partners in Moscow, bringing
in and designing their first major project in this country. A
top hung structural glass façade is the first structure
of this kind in Moscow, with work starting on site during 2004.
Gennady continues to promote expertise in the use of structural
glass, particularly for architecturally important buildings in
Russia, where Malishev Wilson Engineers have an associated office
in Moscow with a 15 strong design team and are able to undertake
projects of various complexity and value.
