2005 De Havilland Hall, Guernsey
Redesign of the existing swimming pool roof structure. Existing
structure comprised of series stainless steel cable trusses supporting
glass roof. After two years of maintenance the trusses were covered
with surface corrosion, despite the fact that it was special grade
stainless steel, and the client decided to replace them with structural
glass beams. New beams are 8m long toughened laminated peaces
of glass, each beam weighs 750kg. This is believed to be first
structural glass application on the island.
