Two striking looking structural glass entrances have been designed by Malishev Wilson Engineers (MWE) as part of the newly built and recently opened Tesco store at Gerrard’s Cross in Buckinghamshire. The main entrance (top picture) measures 9.3 m long, 5.5 m high and 5.4 m deep, comprising low iron content structural glass fins and beams supporting the large glass walls. MWE were involved from the early concept stages of the design. Together with the architects, we were therefore able to produce the minimalist design desired by the client. The store opened on time, before Christmas, to the delight of the local community.
